Academics

We are a fully accredited school K-8 school and have a special accreditation in grades 9-12 through College Prep status. College Prep status means that at least 80% of a school’s graduates, every year, must be accepted into a 4 year college or university.  Over the years, we have consistently averaged over 90% of our students being accepted into 4 year institutions.

Grand View now has a partnership with Cedarville University (we are the only Christian school in central Iowa to have this partnership).  Our students (if accepted into the program by Cedarville) can now take classes concurrently for Grand View and Cedarville – meaning they will get high school and college credit for the class they are taking. The cost of this is only $125 per credit hour, and because of that rate, students have the opportunity to have 1 year of college done when they graduate from Grand View for about $4,000.  And because of Cedarville’s accreditation those Cedarville credits will transfer to any college a graduate wants to attend.

Grand View students also have the opportunity to take classes at Central Campus in downtown Des Moines for college credit at no cost to our parents!  Central Campus offers a variety of classes that we are not able to – nursing classes, shop classes, aviation classes, foreign languages beyond Spanish, etc.  The school board of Saydel came alongside us, so that any student attending a Saydel or Grand View can go take classes at Central Campus. We are very excited to continue this relationship with Saydel.

100% of this year’s graduates have been accepted into a 4 year college, including schools in the Big Ten, the Big 12, and some incredibly well respected schools throughout the Midwest.  Some of the schools this year’s grads are headed to include:  the University of Indiana, Iowa State University, Ohio State University, Cedarville University, Central College, Northwestern in both Orange City and Minneapolis, and Grand View University.
