Early Education

Learning to love the Scriptures and memorize verses is a big part of what goes on in our school every day. The kindergarteners in the video above memorized all of Psalm 100 (above) and also all of Psalm 23, in addition to MANY more verses throughout the year.

Between birth and age 5, there are approximately 2,000 days of growth and development for the young child.  Each of these days is significant in the areas of cognitive, social-emotional, and spiritual development.  Grand View Christian School is pleased to offer a wide variety of age appropriate Christ-centered programs designed to prepare active 3-5 year olds for academic success and spiritual growth.

How long have you been in your job at Grand View?

This is my fourth year at the GV working in preschool. I am excited to have my own classroom this year to help children learn and grow, not only in their knowledge of their letters and numbers, but also in the knowledge of God.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

One of the many reasons I love working at GV is because we get to teach to the whole child – physical, emotional, and spiritual. It is one of the many things I enjoyed about being a student at the school: teachers were not only there to teach us letters and numbers, but also help us grow in our spiritual lives and help us better understand what it means to be a follower of Christ and now I get to share those same truths with my own students.

Teaching is my passion; I cannot imagine doing anything else for the rest of my life. The biggest reward of teaching is watching “your kids” learn and grow so much throughout the year. Even though I am teaching them, I learn and grow so much with them throughout the year. They are truly a blessing in my life.
