Your position:

Associate/Resource, Tutor

Testimony of salvation:

God allowed me to be born into a family with two parents who knew and loved Him.  As a small child, my parents read the Bible to my siblings and me, and my mom would sing us to sleep with songs from the hymn book.  They were faithful in teaching us and in attending a Bible believing church and school.  It wasn't until I was in middle school, though, that I truly understood that my parents' faith and my own "good behavior" would not save me. It is only by the work of God, through Jesus Christ, that my sin could be forgiven and I could be covered in His righteousness. "God is holy.  I am sinful.  Jesus saves.  He is mine by faith."

My husband Pete and I have 5 children.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not teaching?

I love baking, hiking, reading, road tripping, and relaxing at the ocean.

How long have you been in your job at Grand View?

This is my first year as a resource associate at GVCS. Prior to being at GVCS, I served at Fellowship Christian Academy in Massachusetts for 14 years -- 11 years as a teacher, and 3 years as an assistant principal.

What brought you to GV or why did you decide to work here?

We moved to IA in the summer of 2015.  My sister and brother-in-law (an alumnus of GV) who have their children enrolled here, told me about the school.  After touring the school, we attended the open house, where we met some of the teachers, I was instantly impressed by their love for God and their love for students.  I knew after this night, Grand View was the place for us!

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Working one-on-one with students; helping elementary teachers

What is your guilty pleasure?

I love concrete mixers from Culvers
