Testimony of salvation:
I was blessed to be born and raised in a loving, Christian family where ministry was a high priority. When I was four years old, I was hospitalized for several days for a having severe seizure following a fever. It is truly only by God's grace that I am still here today. While hospitalized, my Sunday school teacher sent me a balloon that was sparkly and had pretend jewels on it. After I was released from the hospital, I asked my mom if there were jewels and "sparkly" things in heaven. My mom explained to me that heaven is a place where God, Creator of the universe, lives. It is a beautiful place the Lord has also prepared for those who have asked the Lord to be their personal Savior. To be able to go to heaven someday, I needed to realize that nothing I could do on my own would save my soul. By being born into this world, I was a scarred sinner forever. My heart would be bent towards doing wrong or hurtful things throughout my life. No amount of good works could save me or offset my bad works. However, Ephesians 2:8-9 states, "For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." To be able to go to heaven someday after I die, I needed to pray and ask the Lord to forgive me and save me from my sins. Only Christ could fulfill this role as Savior of my heart and life because He died not only for my sins, but for the sins of the whole world when He was nailed to a cross. His death on the cross was His way of demonstrating His love to me. After my mom had explained this to me, I told her that I desired to do that. I then prayed to ask the Lord to come into my heart and forgive my sins.

Things you enjoy doing when you’re not teaching:
I love spending time with my family and friends, adventuring outdoors, reading new books, and traveling. I have a special place in my heart for camp ministry, and the past two summers I have been blessed to be on the full-time staff at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura, IA.
How long have you been in your job at Grand View?
This is second year of teaching and having had the opportunity to begin my teaching career here at Grand View has been a huge blessing!
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I absolutely love getting to invest in the lives of my students. I am so thankful I get the opportunity to not only teach my students academics, but also, more importantly, that I get to encourage them in their daily walk with God.
