Testimony of salvation:
I grew up in a pastor's home with very godly parents who set a great example for me. At the age of 5, after sitting in my Sunday School lesson on hell, I felt very convicted and knew I was a sinner who needed a Savior. When we got home, I ran into my mom’s room and begged her to show me how to be saved. She shared many verses with me including John 3:16, Romans 3:23, and Romans 10:9, 10. It was that night that I cried out to God and asked Him to forgive my sin and I asked to be His child. At seven years old I was baptized in my church, as a way to show others that I chose Christ and that I wanted to live for Him.
Where you attend church:

Areas where you serve in your church:
I love getting to serve in many different areas in our church including hospitatlity, cleaning committee, teaching, Bible studies, children's ministries, and as a deacon's wife.
BA- Human Services, Grand View University
Multiple Photography classes- DMACC, Licensed Certified Nurses Aid, Victim Services/Sexual Assault Counselor
Alumni of GPBS:
My parents sacrificed a lot so I could attend Grandview Park Baptist from pre-school through 12th grade. I believe the Godly teachers and friends sharpening me, as well as the solid base in God’s Word, had a significant impact on keeping me focused on Christ and fueling my desire to serve Him.
I have been married to Dave for 16 years. He works as an engineer/scheduler for Quality Manufacturing in Urbandale. We have 3 children- Sophia (6th grade), Emmersyn (4th grade), and Silas (1st grade).
Things you enjoy doing when you’re not teaching:
I love finding old treasures (junk) at auctions, flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales, and repurposing it into something cool and unique. I also love photography and traveling with my family.
How long have you been in your job at Grand View?
I have been working at Grand View since 2015.
What brought you to GV or why did you decide to work here?
I love this school and am so thankful for the enormous impact it had on my life. The teachers and staff here genuinely care about and pour into every one of the kids. God's doing huge things here and I wanted to be a part of that.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I absolutely love the chance I get to pour into the kids here and walk through life with them. I love getting the inside look at all of the awesome things this school does, that I just had no idea about before working here. I love the serving that kids/staff do behind the scenes and how God is so ingrained in everything we do. It is so fun for me to be able to share the excitement with all of the parents and see their pride and their joy explode as their son/daughter succeeds and grows to love God deeper. Seeing a parent realize the huge sacrifice they're making for their child to go to GV is completely worth it.
