1st Grade Teacher
Testimony of salvation:
My family attended a neighborhood church. While attending VBS the summer I was 8yrs old, I understood and accepted my need for Jesus as my personal savior. Growing in my understanding of following Him, I was baptized when 10yrs old. God has blessed me with Christian friends and mentors throughout my life. Spending time in His Word draws me closer to Him and equips me for His calling in my life.

My husband, Chris, and I met while attending Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque. We just celebrated our 26th anniversary this August. God has blessed us with two children, Moira and Ian. We also have a dog named Dash.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not teaching?
I drink way too much coffee. I love to read. My favorite snack (especially when grading papers) is Good & Plenty candy. A few of my favorite artists are Chris Tomlin, TobyMac, Jamie Grace and Mercy Me.
How long have you been in your job at Grand View?
This will be my 22nd year of teaching; and 10th year of teaching 1st grade. This is my 3rd year of teaching at GVCS.
What brought you to GV or why did you decide to work here?
The Lord used a few friends to bring me to Grand View. I have always heard good things about the school but had to wait for a position to open.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
My favorite part of teaching is when a student has that “aha” moment, and I get to see a lot of those in first grade.
What is something that would surprise us about you?
I grew up in Maryland, the oldest of four. I have lived in four states; with one on each coast.
