Can We Pray For You?

Students- If you have a prayer request or praise that you would like to share with the staff, we'd love to pray with you and for you.

"A powerful prayer is one that does not let go. It does not quit. It is profitable and powerful because it is persistent."

  • Christmas Concerts

We are quickly approaching the Christmas season and the students are preparing for our annual concerts.  We are grateful to have so many students involved in our fine arts programs, but our numbers are posing a challenge for our concerts this year.  Due to the number of students involved we cannot adequately distance them on our stage to facilitate an in-person concert.  As a result we are planning to do recorded concerts for our elementary students.  We will be working to do the middle school and high school concerts virtually as a live-stream with no audience.  This allows us to distance the students in the same way that we do during rehearsals.  Students will perform the music live and parents will be able to watch the live-stream.  Please understand that this is how we are planning, but things can change quickly.

The students will record videos at school that will be sent out to our families on December 22.

    Middle School

We are planning to live-stream the band and choir performance on Thursday, December 17 at 4:00.  Students will stay after school to change and prepare for the performance and parents can pick up their students after the live-stream is completed.

    High School

The high school band and choir will be live-streaming their performance.  This will take place on Thursday, December 10 at 7:00.

More details about the individual concerts will come out as we get closer.  Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.

  • In an effort to streamline the registration process for GVC's sports programs it is necessary that the following steps are followed.

    - Complete the Winter Sports Registration on FamilyID.

    - Complete the required physical form known as the Iowa Athletic Pre-Participation Physical Examination form.

    - The physical form must be signed and dated by the physician as well as signed by at least one parent.

    - The sports physical may be uploaded to FamilyID (preferred) or dropped off at the MS/HS office.

    - Athletes and parents must consent to the concussion agreement found on FamilyID.

    - No student will be allowed to participate in practice or games until the sports physical form is completed and the concussion agreement  checked off.

  • Exciting New Opportunity-- Thunder Speech Teams

Grand View Christian High School is proud to announce that we will be participating in Iowa High School Speech Association this year. For those of you unfamiliar with the organization, it is a speech competition in which there are many small teams that are judged in various categories. Categories include different styles of performing arts such as improvisation, filming, broadcasting, musical theatre, acting and many others. We as a school are beginning to drum up interest among the high school student body and our first interest meeting for parents and students will be in October before the season begins. We're really excited about the opportunities that being a part of IHSSA gives to our students and we're looking forward to another way to spread the news of the Gospel in our community and doing so with excellence in our performances.

  • It's time to order your winter sports Thunder yard sign! Signs are $25. Orders are due by Wednesday, November 4th.  These signs are available for students in 7th-12th grade, participating in cheerleading, archery, and basketball.
